What is a tire bead and what does our tire bead compression machine do with it?
The tire bead is the crucial connection between the tire and the rim. As part of the carcass, the tire bead forms the inner ring of the tire, which ensures that the tire sits firmly on the rim thanks to the air pressure.
The expansion force of the tire bead, depending on its diameter, is essential for mounting and driving safety. The new generation of our tire bead compression machine quickly and effortlessly checks whether the bead parameters are within the permitted limits.
We use a different set of rim segments for each nominal bead diameter. The segments are set to the nominal diameter using a calibration ring - all included with our machine.
The mounting of the tire bead compression machine is an exact replica of a rim half. Eight radially movable rim segments are expanded outwards synchronously via an electrically actuated tension cone up to the specified limit value. The resulting contact pressure is recorded and the progression is displayed on the multi-touch panel as a function of the diameter.
