What exactly does a wheel matching machine do and why is matching necessary? 

Matching is a tire fitting process that ensures optimum concentricity of the tire.

In the machine, the concentricity deviations of the rim and tire are combined in such a way that they neutralize each other. This optimizes the rolling behaviour of the complete wheel. The maximum and minimum deviations are marked with a dot on the rim and on the tire.

Our wheel match machine recognizes the markings and calculates the required match angle between the tire and rim fully automatically. The matching process can be carried out in two ways: by recognizing the markings or by determining the reference points.

During the correction, the machine presses the tire already mounted on the rim into the recess of the rim on both sides and then rotates the rim by the previously calculated angle. Once the correction is complete, the machine checks again whether the reference points match.

Matching is essential for ensuring optimum concentricity of the tires - an important comfort factor for your vehicle.
