Hofmann's fully automatic two-plane wheel balancing machines, type AWS, are designed for measuring the static and dynamic imbalance of complete car wheels. They can be used both for unbalance correction measurement and for unbalance control measurement.
Unbalance detection
Unbalance can be determined in batch operation as well as in mixed mood operation in shortest cycle times. The complete wheel is held by a high-precision clamping device that clamps the rim in the centre bore. The unbalance detection is determined by a force-measuring measurement system.
Calibration
The wheel alignment machine is calibrated by means of a basic adjustment. The wheel type dependent test parameters are geometrically specified in the test plan.
Marking
The balancing machine AWS-R has a system for marking the unbalance position on the tire.
Balancing wheels
It can be combined with various manual or automatic Hofmann correction stations to correct the determined unbalance and can be integrated into an automatic wheel assembly line.
The quality of the imbalance compensation can be checked by using an inspection balancing machine. This can also be integrated into a wheel assembly line.

- 8,5 sec. with a wheel weight of 25 Kg
- 9 sec. with a wheel weight of 35 Kg
- 9,7 sec. with a wheel weight of 50 Kg
Two-level audit balancing machine with a cycle time of 11 sec.
Two-plane audit balancing machine with a cycle time of:
- 8,5 sec. with a wheel weight of 25 Kg
- 9 sec. with a wheel weight of 35 Kg
- 9,7 sec. with a wheel weight of 50 Kg
Optionally the audit balancing Machine AWS-RK can be equipped with a Hofmann geometry measuring system GEO-SLS. Furthermore, the wheel alignment machines, type AWS-R, can be supplemented with horizontal correction stations.
